there are currently no logon servers available
I have a Windows 2003 forest with many domains over WAN (Lets say DomainA in
US, DomainB in UK, DomainC in Japan all part of the same forest). I also have a single Widnows 2000 domain (DomainZ in US)with no trust to any domain. I will login to DomainZ in US and try to access the resource on DomainC. It prompts me for username and password. I will input as DomainC\user and password. But I get the follwoing error You might not have permission to use this netowrk resource. Contact the administrator of this to find out if you have access permission There are currently no logon servers available. Whats is causing this message? Suppose if I login to DomainA in US and try to access the share from DomainC it works fine. |

How is DNS resolution between the domains configured? Re: there are currently no logon servers available
Assuming that's an external trust - maybe it's broken trust relationship,
perhaps because of the name resolution. Verify the trust. Use nltest (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/158148) -- Svyatoslav Pidgorny, MS MVP - Security, MCSE -= F1 is the key =- * http://sl.mvps.org * http://msmvps.com/blogs/sp * "Avil" <Avil@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:947E850E-3153-4827-B2F9-71ECF36080C0@microsoft.com... >I have a Windows 2003 forest with many domains over WAN (Lets say DomainA >in > US, DomainB in UK, DomainC in Japan all part of the same forest). Re: there are currently no logon servers available
Hi
This is generally caused by BAD name resolution or FW issues, check that. -- I hope that the information above helps you. Have a Nice day. Jorge Silva MCSE, MVP Directory Services |
