The problem I ran into is that the lastLogonTimestamp isn't reliable even after changing its replication interval to the lowest possible value (1 day). The lastLogon attribute is more accurate but it is updated prior to my logon script running which means that when my script runs it always gives back the logon time of current logon which is useless. So I had to end up making my own attribute which turned out better because I have to also track the location (hostname) of the last successful logon. I can control when that attribute is read/written instead of ADS doing it for me. This is entirely in VBscript right now but I prefer Perl since another script to track concurrent logons that is in use on our systems is in Perl. I can't figure out why MS isn't innovative enough to provide some of this stuff when other directories and operating systems provide it. |
