File access blocked

I am the sole user on my home computer and so I assume I'm also the
administrator, but when I edited a file inside a program and went to save the
file wordpad told me "access to c:\ProgramFiles etc... was denied" what I
want to know is why am I being denied access to my own files and how do I
gain access to them?

RE: File access blocked

yes, you cannot edit and save a file inside program files location. For that
you have to run the editor as Administrator, open the file and then save the
file in the desired location. you cannot simply open and save in the program
files location, that location is restricted in vista for the standard user
because unless you specify a program to run as admin, vista run that program
as standard user by default.
