vista is driving me up the wall Ideas?
There are two things I really hate about Vista (lots of things
but I can kill em) 1- when I delete a folder in filemanager (windows explorer) it remains in the tree even after a refresh. I create files and folders as 50% of what I do on my machine and this is driving me nuts. How do I kill that function? 2-I want the "Details" setting for the files and folders view settings. They are constantly resetting to "Tiles" or "Icons" and I want ALL files and folders to default to "Details" always! I've come close to tossing the thing out the window more than once! Can anyone out there suggest alternate software or registry changes or anything to kill these annoying features? HELP HELP HELP p.s. I've gone back to xp and tried several Linux flavours in the last 8 months and they can't do what I need to do so that's out |

See the little "?" you know "Help" on the right end of the tool bar Click it
and it will show you how to do your views either on the one you are using or the defaults if you have not tried it. Oh, I forgot one other thing you can do. If you are in a particular folder
type and it is set up the way you want all others of that type to show as, go to Organize/Folder and Search Options/View on the toolbar and select Apply to Folders and it should make all folders of that type look alike. If you want to know what type folder it is you can right click a blank spot in the folder and look at Properties/Customize and in Use this folder as a template: It will show it as the default. Re: vista is driving me up the wall Ideas?
ok so people throw out ideas to you and you insult them.
Ok how's this. You tell us everything you know and that way we don't tell you something you already know. After all, no one here is a mind reader. In fact my suggestion is if you want to abuse someone do it properly. Find someone to go beat the crap out of. That way you can show just how tough you're really not "Soundchaser" <none@fyour.business> wrote in message news:Xns99C073710E19Enonefyourbusiness@216.168.3.4 4... =?Utf-8?B?SzExMQ==?= <K111@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in news:672B7E44-6990-4520-AE87-409CCCFC000A@microsoft.com: > Oh, I forgot one other thing you can do.
