Help with transfering DV tape from cam to computer?

I have a sony DCR-PC105E DV Camcorder, and I can not transfer or 'USB Steam'
the video to my computer via USB.
windows vista say's it can not find the USB driver - I have the disk from
sony but can not install the driver from that either.
Is there any other way of getting my mini dv tape footage on to my vista
computer??
Please help.
Mark

Does your camera have an i-Link (firewire, IEEE 1394) connector?

To use the USB connection, you will need a driver/program from Sony. Have you
checked the Sony web site?

Same problem that I had.
I have windows vista home premium, my computer counldn't recognize sony
camcorder nor install sony program (picture gear 4.1).
After I down loaded 'update for windows vista(kb940199) my computer recognize
my camcorder well. But sony picture gear 4.1 still won't work

Re: Help with transfering DV tape from cam to computer?

I have the same problem, apparently sony know about the problem and
offer a new software package from thier site, only problem there is
whenever i enter the camera details(handycam DCR-HC44E) it wont accept
the name!!!???
There is another cure if you use a firewire cable, (if the camera and
the computer has a port for one) which is the next thing il try. I have
a feeling though my laptop(dell insipiron 9400 dosnt have the port for
it)
ANYONE OUT THERE PLEASE HELP!!
