Vista Sidebar Problem - closing gadgets locks up computer
I have an Inspiron 9400 running vista premium OS, and recently found that multiple calendar gadgets (darn kids!) had been created in the sidebar. When I try to close any of them, the PC locks up, and nothing responds, so I have to close via the power button. Also, the weather gadget now defaults to Redmond, WA, and won't allow me to edit (how sinister is THAT?). The sidebar gadgets all used to work fine. Anyone experience anything like this? I'd like to uninstall and re-install the package, but the process is so different from XP, I haven't yet decided to cross that bridge. The kb searching I've done thus far hasn't yielded anything useful. Appreciate any insights. -- inspiron9400 |

Figured it out - there were multiple instances of calendar gadgets - about 40 of them (!), which had to be individually detached from the sidebar beginning with the oldest, then deleted (closed). Crazy! -- inspiron9400 |

Re: Vista Sidebar Problem - closing gadgets locks up computer
I am having the same problem except that it is the weather gadget that was
put on over and over. I have tried to individually uninstall each one from earliest to oldest and oldest to newest but everytime it freezes and I do have to shut down. Now the minute I click on the sidebar it freezes the whole computer, so I cant just shut down the gadgets either. Any suggestions?
