Remove My Bluetooth Places icon

I'm trying to get rid of the "My Bluetooth Places" icon on my desktop/

I've found instructions to do this via regedit for XP, but the key mentioned
in those instructions don't match the keys I find under Vista.

Follow the same instructions for XP: 1) Find the this registry: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb} 2) Export it for a backup 3) remove this key and subfolders 4) reboot 5) delete the icon that now appears as a blank page on the desktop -Alex

open regedit and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace. These are all your desktop
icons. One of them is My Blutooth places. You can delete it and the
icon will go.

Re: Remove My Bluetooth Places icon

This is what you do to remove the icon: open regedit and find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace.
These are all your desktop icons. One of them is My Blutooth places.
You can delete it and the icon will go. The only thing left for you to
do is to double click on the (Default) key and read what icon that is.
Cheers

RE: Remove My Bluetooth Places icon

I would like to get a My Bluetooth Places icon on my desktop. :-) How do I
do that? I have an icon in the taskbar but no Bluetooth Places either there
at right click or on the desktop.
