Frank IS sometimes prone to exaggeration, but more for emphasis than
deception.

As of end-of-business last Friday, Microsoft had activated 58,324,156
distinct copies of Vista.

There's no doubt that Vista will sell. Most computers, especially lap
tops, only come with the Vista Virus nowadays. The proof isn't how many
are bought and activated. The proof is when the Vista Virus has spread
and people have had a chance to see what it's like. If people decide
they don't like Vista, unfortunately for MS, XP probably won't have the
drivers for the new hardware but Linux will. Hence, my noble mission on
this newsgroup.

I would suspect several of those were reactivation for reinstalls or
buggy DRM issues (false activation triggers).

Correct, XP doesn't have drivers for the built in web cam on my notebook,

Linux might have drivers, I don't know which distro does though, I can tell
you that Ubuntu doesn't find it.

Shame you're wrong about the reasons you have a "noble" mission then.

More likely you don't know how to install the drivers. Have you asked on
an Ubuntu group? I didn't think so.

You'd like that, wouldn't you?

About 3 months.

I said Ubuntu doesn't find it, are you suggesting I should have to go
hunting the Internet for a drive, compile and install it.
That goes against everything you have said about Ubuntu in this vista forum.

It doesn't really matter, I already know you are wrong.
That's your problem, as soon as you encounter anyone that has used XP, vista
and Linux all your arguments are shown to be false.
There are good reasons to use linux in some circumstances, however so far
you have shown none of them.
You may be better off arguing your case in a windows server group but don't
try that with ubuntu or they will laugh at you even more than here.
