Unable to send email thru webmail using Microsoft Exchange Server

Hi

Recently I got this problem that is I am unable to send email using my
xchange server webmail after changing my Pc to Windows Vista Business OS.
When I try other PC using Windows XP Pro, I am able to send. May I know what
is the problem behind this?

Thank you

I believe the Exchange server needs to be patched to support Vista. If
you are the systems admnistrator, go to Microsoft and patch your server.
If you are not the systems administrator, you need to talk to your IT
Dept. about doing this. Here are a few links to MS Knowledge Base
articles about Exchange and Vista:

You receive an error message when you try to perform any editing tasks,
or you must click to enable the compose frame in Outlook Web Access

A mail program cannot connect to an Exchange Server 2007 server by using
SSL over SMTP port 587

There may be others. My area of expertise is not with Exchange so I'm
not sure of all the details. You may want to post to one of the Exchange
newsgroups or contact Microsoft (or have your IT Dept. do it).

Re: Unable to send email thru webmail using Microsoft Exchange Server

Actually the issue is due to Vista not using ActiveX when browsing with a IE to the Exchange Webserver. When editing email, the server uses activeX to launch the editor... vista doesn't support that.

K911829 at Support.microsoft.com is the patch you need to install on the exchange server to address this issue.

no reboot required.
IIS, IMAP, Information Store will all automatically stop and start.
Installation takes about 2 minutes.
