Sync'ing Vista/WM5 -- Everything OK But Calendar, Outlook shuts do
I've had my PocketPC (Loox n560 - WM5) sync'ed with my XP desktop for
years... No real issues. Yesterday, I purchased a new Vista notebook, and tried to get the Loox sync'ed. I installed my Office 2003 onto the notebook. Everything seemed to work, except the calendar. For some reason, I got two new, blank appointments inserted into both my PPC and my outlook (So SOMTHING is going on here). Nothing from my PPC would go onto the notebook. Several times during sync'ing, an error came up saying there was a problem with Microsoft Office System Software, and Outlook shut down. I manually forced two updates (per the suggestion), but it still seems to do that every few attempts. My contacts seemed to sync just fine. Can anyone tell me what's going on with my Calendar? Thanks! |

Ladderless
Visit the manufacturers support website for that PocketPC. If there are any known issues with Vista, they will known about them and have a solution for you. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Ladderless" <Ladderless@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2FE6B2F8-4F53-421D-8398-3641322EFAF7@microsoft.com... > I've had my PocketPC (Loox n560 - WM5) sync'ed with my XP desktop for > years... Re: Sync'ing Vista/WM5 -- Everything OK But Calendar, Outlook shut
They were no help.
Here's a bit more information... It seems that if I create an appointment on either my PPC or VISTA computer, the two will sync fine. The issue is that 99.9% of my appointments are created on my desktop, XP computer's Outlook. Those appointments are in my PPC, by won't sync to my VISTA computer. Any ideas? Re: Sync'ing Vista/WM5 -- Everything OK But Calendar, Outlook shuts do
Everybody on the net thinks the appearance of blank appointments in Outlook has something to do with syncing pda's or phones. I don't think syncing has anything to do with this problem, because I get a few of these and I'm not syncing anything. M$ simply hasn't done a decent job writing code for Outlook because this is a common problem, according to the numerous complaints seen on the net when gOOgling "blank appointments". These appointments appear mysteriously after the computer wakes from sleep mode or after a cold start of the computer, pre or post Vista service pack 1. This did not happen with Outlook 2002, but it definitely happens after Outlook 2007 starts automatically when Vista starts or at 7:45 am per task scheduler. -- securetype |
