Help with lost account
I just did a reinstall/(upgrade) of windows Vista Business and now I no
longer have access to my account The account was a (real) administrator account (net user Administrator /active:yes) Renamed to "John". All of the stuff is there under users but I can not gain access to it (access denied). The net "user Administrator /active:yes" command no longer works; the error comes back as account not found. Does anyone have any idea how to get that admin account back as well as how to make "john" an active account again? |

Re: Help with lost account
Did you change the name of the Built-in admin account?
Start cmd.exe with admin privileges and type: net user (press Enter) This should show all of the accounts that are registered on the system. If you see John and not an account named Administrator you may need to type: net user Administrator /active:yes To enable the John account. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Wizard" <stop.spam@net.ai> wrote in message news:465DD712.BCE961ED@net.ai... >I just did a reinstall/(upgrade) of windows Vista Business and now I no > longer have access to my account > The account was a (real) administrator account (net user Administrator > /active:yes) Renamed to "John". Re: Help with lost account
I have currently changed my SID lamelessly the other day and when i tried to reboot my pc,i was on a completely account type and name during logon. instead of an admin acct,i am now on a guest account which have the name of my previous one. i cannot gain access to all my files coz it said i dont have permission to do so. apparently,i have 1 account names during logon. the other one was the old one that i have which was a guest account and the other one was names "Other User" which requires a password. i dont know what the password is coz i am sure i dont have any password at all when i bought this laptop. could someone help me out on this? someone told me too that my old files are still intact,it's just that i cant gain access coz i am on a guest account. plese help me. =( -- izehacker Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
