zip file integration... other archive types?

Having the Windows Explorer be able to handle ZIP files like folders has
been great. I am curious: does anyone know of any other "shell
integration" software that would allow RAR, ACE, MSI, 7z, etc etc files
be handled in this way, as well?

Thanks,

Hi Itwally,

Welcome to the Vistax64.com forum. arty:

The free program 7-Zip is a good one. After it is installed, click
Tools and Options. You can then select all the different files you want
it to handle.

'7-Zip' (http://www.7-zip.org/)

I think you misunderstand what I mean. Both WinXP & WinVista have the
ability to treat a standard zip file like a standard folder; Windows
itself allows you to view the contents of a zip file from within the
Windows Explorer. Files within are, to the user, treated as files
within a normal folder/directory. The only way that you can even tell
that it is a zip file that you're browsing within is the icon with the
zipper instead of standard folder icon.

I'm looking for a product that adds that same capability for other
archive formats. What 7-Zip, and every other product that I'm familiar
with, does is to add a context-menu. This is handy, but nowhere near as
handy as having the Windows Explorer treat 7z (and other) archives like
they were just another directory.

Anyone know of a product that adds this capability to Windows? I would
be curious if it is available for x86, though I am specifically looking
for a Vista x64 capable addition.
