Re: Ready boost in vista

No, the very opposite. It's not meant to replace ram, it's meant to assist
those who don't have alot of ram. Most benchmarks show that if you have 1GB
or more of ram, then readyboost doesn't offer much of a performance gain.
Nothing beats RAM !

Hey,

Take a look and this 'should' explain most of the ReadyBoost features.

Re: Ready boost in vista

To date, this only seems to improve performance on machines with 1GB or less
RAM.
It may improve reboot speed.

Re: Ready boost in vista

I stumbled onto Ready Boost by accident when I plugged a 2GB USB Flash into
my Laptop. I have 1GB RAM, dual core intel & 100GB HD. I used the flash as
Ready Boost for a day --- my environment is Office 2007 with Business
Contact Mgr (meaning many SQL operations). I definitely noticed an
improvement. My laptop has been disk bound due to the SQL and the slow disk
access speed of a laptop based system. People with a large desktop system
may not see the improvement, but on a laptop it is significant.
