MS Optical Desktop Problem

I am running Vista, I have installed the correct drivers for the Inteli
wireless optical mouse & multimedia keyboard. The problem is that when I
connect the USB receiver the receiver lights do not show, or the computer
does not see the 'new' device. It does work as pressing the button the lights
flash & when I press the connect button on the mouse or keyboard the lights
stop & go out. The 'optical desktop' does all work fine as I installed this
on an XP computer. I am also running a wireless network on the Vista PC, but
turning it off does not help. Please help me so that I can get the lights on
the transmitter to remain on.
Regards Marty
