RE: Vista Security
OK, you don't want Vista's improved(but annoying!) security.
You can do this work in Control Panel Turn off Windows Defender In User Accounts turn off UAC(User Account Control) "hgrock" wrote: > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the > results, please visit http://www.vistax64.com/showthread.php?t=108106 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Question: is vista as good as XP profeffional > > - yes > - no > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > ::Hello people:: > ::I have vista on my pc, I installed it, I am the only user no others > in the user account and therefore the administrator, Yet almost > everything I try to do I get the message you do not have permission > please contact the administrator, tonight I am trying to download the > vista driver for my Lexmark p6350 printer and I am told I do not have > permission but it allows me to download the XP driver, some old files on > my d drive I cannot delete, I need permission.:: > ::How can I turn this silly checking off, can anyone help here please > its driving me nuts:: > ::George:: > > > -- > hgrock > |

There are literally thousands of others who would be users on your computer if given half a chance. Every third post (it seems) on the XP newsgroup can be laid at the feet of some bit of malware. |

Happened to me about a year ago. I wanted to use my car. There I was, standing outside the car, with no key. In the rain. My bad. No one else's. I screwed up. Fortunately, because of the rain, no one could see my tears. The only bright spot was that car thieves couldn't get in either... |

Career car thieves usually don't "borrow" keys from the owner; they just break in. We can only do precautions but nothing can stop them if they really want our cars, or for the same matter, hack into our computers.
