I can run it as many times as I want in XP without any problems. But when I try to run it in Vista, it never makes it to the desktop. Possibly it *is* making it to the desktop but the video is crapping out. At any rate, I have to shut off the virtual machine to get out of it. And of course that puts it back in the "run Scandisk" state. Just for kicks, I'll do it again and instead of shutting it down, I'll use "Save state" and then see what it does in XP. -- --- Long live Fat32! --- |

I'm on to something. Running 98 under XP, I renamed my autoexec.bat and config.sys files, and unmapped all my network drives. Then when I got back into Vista, 98 booted up OK. Now it's just a matter of adding stuff back until I find the hangup. Mapped drives may be a problem when trying to run the same virtual PC under two operating systems. I'll bet that's it. I really don't have time to mess with it anymore right now, but when I figure it out, I'll post back. Thanks for following along with me! -- --- Long live Fat32! --- |
