File Extensions

Under XP I had the display set to always show the file extensions whenever
Windows Explorer wasopened. I have not been able to find where this setting
is under VISTA.

You should be able to control that function from > control panel > folder
options > View

Windows Explorer: Tools (ALT if not visible) > Folder Options, View tab,
uncheck second item from bottom in the window
