Windows Mobility Centers Brightness problem

I was told by Intel that the Brightness not working in Windows Mobility
Center is not their driver problem and I should contact Microsoft. What
should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.

At this point, we can only recommend that you contact Microsoft* and see if
they have any recommendations on this. As long as the brightness function
works within the Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950 properties,
then there are no issues with either the graphics controller or the drivers.

Sincerely,

Carlos B.

I have the option brightness in Windows Mobility Center but changing
it doesn't change the actual brightness.

I can however change the brightness in Intel GMA Driver for mobile
which is in Control Panel
(However the settings like changing brightness when the laptop is on
battery/plugged in etc available through the Mobility Center do not
work. So I think Mobility Center is important)

Yes I have the latest driver of 945GM from the Intel Website.

I have flashed to the latest BIOS for lenovo 3000 N100 series but the
problem still remains. I have installed Vista twice but the problem
remains.
