Always ask before opening this file type
Every time I get a attachment in my email and I click on the attachment it comes up with would you like open or save this file and right below that is Always ask before opening this file type but it is grayed out so I can't uncheck it so it will just download it. Any suggestions on how to get that back so I can uncheck it? I am using Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista. I know in xp you could just go to file type and uncheck it from there but vista does not have that option in folder options. Please help been pulling my hair out for weeks lol thanks for your time -- Zerocool242007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zerocool242007's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=25903 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=787106 http://forums.techarena.in |

Re: Always ask before opening this file type
So I just wasted a couple hours of my life with Outlook 2007 again. (system: Vista business, running Outlook 2007) The solution I have discovered so far is to open Outlook as the Administrator: (Right click+Shift key) Outlook icon, "Run As Administrator". For each of the file types you do NOT want to be prompted with the "Opening Mail Attachment" box and the grayed out/disabled "always ask before opening this type of file" message, you must try to OPEN the file. You will now be able to clear that annoying little box! Users won't be prompted anymore before opening a file of that type.
