Re: Half Life 2
Half Life 2 will be updated for free (patches and fixes, DOES NOT include
sequels to the game) automatically through your steam account when an update is available, it works fine on Vista as long as your hardware supports Vista and the games requirements. -- ---- Crosspost, do not multipost How to ask a question How to Post __________________________________________________ _______________________________ "Micky" <> wrote in message news:... > How much does it cost to update half life 2 (monthly or yearly). Re: Half Life 2
Is it not possible just to install the disc and play the game or do you have
to set up a stream account to update the game? The page does not mention anything about a charge (search the page for charge and nothing is found) Steam is just the software that runs lots of different games that you purchase separately. It deals with security etc... You must have an internet connection to runs Steam. You can download Steam from their website (mentioned on the link you gave). You might find the game cheaper as the prices are in dollars and at $2 to the £1 you can make some great savings. (You need a credit card to purchase on steam). All purchases on steam can be downloaded there and then so you don't have to wait for delivery or go to the shops ![]() HTH -- Annie___ (VM BB L)________________________________ - |

If you read the terms, it also states you may be asked for billing information but the subscriptions it mentions are subscriptions of choice. in other words, beyond the creation of the Steam account, you are only required to pay for a service, subscription, content, etc. that you choose and this would appear to be over and above the purchase of Half Life 2. -- Michael Solomon Backup is a PC user's best friend DTS-L.Org: |

Re: Half Life 2
sorry for all this trouble and all these silly questions but steam is
definately free software and updates for half life 2 will all be free. Are charges only for sequels and separate games e.g. half life 2:episode one or deathmatches "Annie R J Brion" wrote: > Micky wrote: > > Is it not possible just to install the disc and play the game or do you have > > to set up a stream account to update the game? > > Steam is required.
