HELP! Download Problems

Hey I got my new Dell Computer August 3rd and I don't have that many errors.
There is one that I have to fix though. Whenever I try to download something
it only does so much unless it's a small download but anything over 5MB won't
work. It is very annoying. Can anyone help?

Re: HELP! Download Problems

Hi ringsofterror. Before a downloaded file is transferred to your chosen
folder location, its parts, so to speak, are downloaded to the Temporary
Internet Files folder.

Try this. Go to IE7 > Tools > Internet Options, and, on the
General tab, click on Settings, under the "Browsing history" section. In
the new window, next to "Disk space to use", try putting it at an
amount at least half of the highest number of what it says as
"(Recommended)"; for example, if it says 50- 250MB, try at least 125MB (the
default is 50, which is usually enough for browsing). Click OK. Back on
the General tab, under "Browsing history" again, click on Delete, then click
on Temporary Internet Files. Try a download again.

HELP! Download Problems

Had same problem. It was AVG 8.0. I had run out of trial time on it, so the program itself was not starting, but there was a freaking toolbar messing things up... Uninstalled AVG, and all is good. Hope that helps. Bottom line, try unistalling any anti virus, anti spyware, or anything of sorts.

And by the way, Kevin, your answer is like if you went to the doctor because of a pain in the little finger, and he suggested to cut it to get rid of the pain...

"... He Could Have Saved A Lot Of Money ..." is the most useless information you could had provided anyone, I would tend to agree with Karyn.
