Interactive services dialog detection
I am getting the below message for a while now and have no idea on how to solve it.
Any suggestion, please? [Window Title] Interactive services dialog detection [Main Instruction] A program can't display a message on your desktop [Content] The program may need information or permission to complete a task. Why does this happen? [^] Hide program details [Show me the message] [Remind me in a few minutes] [Expanded Information] Program(s) or devices(s) requesting attention. Message title: Program path: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\svchost.exe Received: ?Today, ?November ?29, ?2007, ??30 minutes ago This problem happens because of partial incompatibility with Windows Vista. Please contact the program or device manufacturer(s) for more information. |

I've been getting it too for the last day. For me it happened after a automatic vista update. No surprises there really, teach me for leaving this function enabled. |

I am getting the exact same error message.... Do you think this is a virus? I have run my virus scan and nothing is found. The remind me in a few minutes only option is really frustrating! |

I found this post on another site: (http://itsvista.com/2007/04/interact...ces-detection/)
"To disable Interactive Services Dialog Detection messages in Vista, search the word “services” in your Start menu, click on Services when it comes up, and find Interactive Services Detection in the list of services. Right click it, and click Properties. Here, you can either Stop the service, or choose “Disabled” from the Startup Type menu. Either of these things will stop these messages from appearing." I havent had time to try it yet but i hope tht helps. **Disastranort** 'Sharing is caring'-Suprnova.org |

Re: Interactive services dialog detection
i have been having this error for a very long time, never really got around to trying to sort it out until now, and the above information worked a treat! it stops those messages coming up perfectly, however im unsure whether it actually solves the problem! whatever it is that was causing the message to come up isn't deleted or resolved. anyways hope this helps

Re: Interactive services dialog detection
Turning off UI0Dectect is not the way to "solve" this problem, because it doesn't solve anything; all it does is silence the symptom. You've allowed malware onto your system, and it's installed itself as a service. Turning off UI0Detect does nothing about that; someone else's hostile software is still running on your machine. Very bad.
You need to find the bogus service entry and delete it. In RegEdit, look under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servi ces" for an entry whose "ImagePath" value is the bogus svchost.exe invocation. Delete the named service from all the "ControlSetNNN" branches also, so you won't pick up the bogus service again if you have to go back to an LKG configuration. |

I'm so glad this posting was here! Just began having the problem after downloading Vista SP2. The services/properties advice worked perfectly! thanks!

Hit the windows key (beside Ctrl key) and R to run services menu then go down to interactive services detection and disable it. Right click and hit stop and disable. Get out of there you are done!
