Safest email provider?

What is the safest email provider to use for everyday use?

I have been switching between different providers for a few weeks but i
still can't decide which one to stick with.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you for your time

Matthew

Where USA/UK or somewhere else?

There are hundreds if not thousands of ISPs.

I've been using Thunderbird for quite awhile now, and have been quite
happy with it. User friendly, lots of add ons (extensions) that are
useful. Vista compatible.

True enough, but Thunderbird is not an email "provider." It's an email
client application; which something entirely different.

Re: Safest email provider?

Any of the major email providers are safe, in my experience non are better
than anyone else. I recommend any of these to my family members who are not
tech savvy. Most of them prefer Yahoo.

Yahoo
Hotmail, Live.com, MSN (whatever it is called these days)
Google

Not all of them are fully features in the free versions.
For instance, some countries require a premium version of Yahoo
if you want to be able to POP it.

Gmail is free and fully featured in all territories.
