Reason for DVDs that skips or stops

I uses a Sony DCR SR80 hard drive camcorder to record our church services
each Sunday since January 2007. The services are more that two hours long. I
uses Window Moviemaker in Vista to make the first copy. I make up to 20
copies using a combination of "make another copy" in Vista. I also use Nero
on two another computer to make other copies. I distribute them free to the
member that are shut-in. I never gotten reports of problems.
Two weeks ago I got a reports of a October 21 disk that would break-up about
two hours into the program. I called a few of the members and found that all
had the same problem. I had erased the original clips from the camcorder and
my Hard drive.
I got a report today of another service with the problem. I think this is
just one disk, since the disk I still have playing through when I tested
it.
I am using Staple store brand 100 pack, DVD+R. I make the first recording on
Verbatim DVD+RW.

Re: Reason for DVDs that skips or stops

So many variables, but as all of one video failed I suspect a corruption of
the original file.
I'd chose high quality discs, and don't fill them more than 4gb,burn slowly,
not as fast as you can.

Re: Reason for DVDs that skips or stops

Thanks; I was able to recopy the DVD as a single chapter in Nero and I
notice that the file size was more than 4
gb. It plays ok as a single chapter
