MS Digital Image thumbnails are blank
Vista Business.
P4 processor 3GHz 2G RAM 160G hard drive Recently digital photos that I have imported into my Digital Image Suite 2006 Library are not showing up in the thumbnails. I can access the photos in slideshows and for editing, but the thumbnails are just gray icons that I have to double-click on to see the photos. I have used DI for about 3 months, and this week is the first time I've seen this problem. I don't remember changing any settings. Can anyone out there help me through this? |

MS Digital Image 2006 *Vista Compatibility* Update (Not required for the Anniversary Edition) If you continue to have issues with the thumbnails...I can only suggest that you rename the Pictures.pd3 database . This will force DIS2006 to create a new database the next time you open it. You will have to re-catalog your images. In Windows Vista...your Pictures.pd3 database file should be found at the following location: C:\Users\>username<\AppData\Local\ Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd3 If you cannot find the file, it may be hidden. On your Vista machine you can find your database file with with an Advanced Search for .pd3 Go to...Start / Search / Advanced Search. Check the box..."Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files" Enter .pd3 in the Name field and left click the Search button. You can delete the Pictures.pd3 file or just rename it Pictures.OLD. The next time you open the Library it will be as it was the first time you opened it. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

Re: MS Digital Image thumbnails are blank
Thank you very much John. I installed the compatibility update just now. The
blank thumbnails were still there so I changed the name of the .pd3 file to pictures.old. The program remembered my folders and populated them with the correct thumbnails throughout the Library. I checked the folders that contained the blank thumbnails and each one was populated as it should be. It worked! Have a great 2008.
