Wireless Mouse Menu Problems

Hi, I have a relatively new wireless mouse but all of a sudden when I right
click, no menu box appears, could anybody tell me if this a fault with my
mouse or have I inadvertently removed / changed settings somehow. The wheel
is working and the left hand button is working. I have also plugged in a
wired mouse and this works perfectly.

Would really appreciate any help as I'm baffled, thanks.

RE: Wireless Mouse Menu Problems

Hi Raven3932,

Try swapping the mouse buttons around, ie set it up to be a left-handed
mouse instead of a right-handed one. Since you know that the left-hand button
is working, this will check the function of the right-hand button. If the
right-hand button now works, then you have eliminated hardware problems and
it is probably a corrupt driver. If, however, this button still fails to
operate whereas the left-hand button now brings up the context menu, then
this is indicative of a hardware problem with the mouse. Of course, if your
problem simply swaps buttons then it could still be a hardware problem with
the mouse (by mouse, I also include the USB wireless receiver module) OR it
could be a corrupt driver. As a first step, I would try reinstalling the
mouse driver. Don't overlook the obvious causes. Many problems with wireless
devices are caused by nothing more than failing batteries.
