Cannot receive/send email
Error message is:
Account: 'pop.central.cox.net', Server: 'pop.central.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR An authentication mechanism MUST be entered', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18 I have checked and unchecked authentication and SSL boxes, I have called my ISP and they have reset my password, but nothing is working. What is the problem with this program??? |

Go to the tools menu>accounts>select your 'pop.central.cox.net' account>properties>server tab>ensure that under Outgoing Mail Server, put a check in My server requires authentication. apply>OK -- Regards Steve. I'd guess this: <http://support.cox.com/sdccommon/asp/contentredirect.asp?sprt_cid=4531f9ea-a8b1-4811-b98d-079427d18558> It was written for Outlook Express, but should also work under Windows Mail if it doesn't call for the HTTP protocol. It assumes you start with the default port number, though. |
