Running Outlook 2007 and Windows Mail simultaneously

Has anyone noted any problems when running Outlook 2007
and Windows Mail simultaneously for long periods of time
(hours).

Thanks!

Outlook and Windows Mail are both email clients.
Why would you be using both at the same time?

I use both at the same time, and have done so for years, with Outlook
Express and Windows Mail, with Outlook 2003/2007. I use Outlook for email
and the WM/OE for newsgroups.

There are no problems running them both, even when you have the same IMAP or
WebDAV (Hotmail) email accounts on them, but there would be an issue with
POP3 accounts when you do not keep the emails on the server after download,
as the email would go to one client, or the other, depending on which one
does its periodical new mail check first.

That is just one area where the functionality of the programs overlap.

I do that, Outlook for email and WM as my newsreader.

As long as you do not configure both clients to pull down your email, there
should not be any problems.

Outlook for mail and Windows mail for newsgroups (which Outlook
does not do).

RE: Running Outlook 2007 and Windows Mail simultaneously

You folks are light years ahead of me. I've had Vista for a year now and I
can't get my Yahoo email to download to Outlook. I've gone online, gone
through everything I can find (including "Help") and nothing they tell me to
do results in an automatic download. One process DID change the appearance
of my Yahoo email, but that's not what I want. I'm actually pretty computer
literate -- I thought! Any help?
