Why did MS make IE 7 uninstallable/unrepareable in Vista?

If you have a problem with IE7 that disabling Add-ons wont fix, you are left
with System Restore or reinstalling Vista.

Why the hell did MS not implement the normal Uninstall, Repair, etc for IE7?
It just seems stupid.
You shouldnt have to be forced to resort to System Restore or reinstalling
Vista to fix an issue with one program.

Hi,

No version of Windows has allowed for an uninstallation of the version of IE
that it comes with. That has only existed when IE has been upgraded.

What sort of problem are you having with IE? Have you asked in one of the IE
groups?

You have the same choices re reinstall as you had with IE6 and XP; NONE!
What are you talking about, normal uninstall?????
If you don't like it, use firefox!

Did you try the following; NO!
In IE7>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset

I can no longer connect to the internet with IE7. Just happened out of the
blue and I have no clue why.
Yes I have Reset in Tools, Advanced. I also tried running as Administrator
and disabled all Add-Ons. Nothing is working.

I do use FireFox but some sites work better with IE. I use both back and
forth.

Hi,

Make sure IE is closed.

Click start and type CMD, then right click the entry in the start menu and
select 'run as administrator'. Click continue at the prompt. From the
command line, run:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

You should get a successful message after each. After the last one
completes, retry IE. If that fails, close IE again and run:

netsh winsock reset

and try again.

Forgot to mention too that if you run the netsh command, you should reboot
the system before retrying to connect.
