Editing config.sys in Vista
I still use an old DOS program that requires that I add a command line to
config.sys. I am now using Vista and can't figure out how to make the needed changes so this program will work. How can I edit config.sys in the Vista environment? |

Re: Editing config.sys in Vista
The '%windir%/system32' folder contains autoexec.nt and config.nt, which are
used by default. Other files can be assigned instead by rightclicking the dos app's icon for 'Properties', and use the 'Advanced' settings to change the path to your special files. -- click the Ratings button. You might try using Vista's C:\Windows\System32\Config.NT, but there's no guarantee that it'll work for the specific application you're trying to run. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot |

Re: Editing config.sys in Vista
Try using Dos Box, a DOS emulator.
