DVD Playing Problem

I am running Vists Home Premium (recently updated to Service Pack 1) When I
play any DVD on my PC, the screen breaks up displaying multi-colours inter
mingled with the movie. The sound is OK. The DVD player was working OK some
weeks ago! Any ideas?

Re: DVD Playing Problem

The media may have become corrupt/physically damaged over time, but since you
mention that the sound is still fine enough.......well,I hope you did not
make any changes to the installed codecs since the last time it worked
properly. Also, please do not run several applications simultaneously while
attempting DVD video playback. Was the movie attempted to be opened in any
video-editing software?
I assume that by the phrase `DVD player`,you do not mean a physically
separate electronic device but the optical drive itself only.
