Huge problems with Vista Ultimate 64 bit

I am experiencing huge problems with my PC equipped with Vista Ultimate
64 bit.

Since when, three months ago, it was assemled by a technician, it has
always shown the roblems I am here trying to explain.

First of all let me underline that I regularly check about drivers
update.

So thr problem is that it is quite impossible for me to write commands
on, for example, RUN window. Once I start digiting, the few digits are
being selected (as it is shown when you try to select a string with
mouse) and they are canceled appearing the small curtain-window that
shows the last commands entered.

The same thing happens with any Internet Browser, when I try to wrie an
http adress...the same story.

When I create a new folder in Explorer, after right-clicking to rename
it, only a few digits are allowed before seeing them disappearing and
having the defult name assigned to the folder.

All windows, as soon as they appear, or as soon as my mouse moves on
the top bar, they start blinking for a while....Crazy!!

Also in Office word I cannot print because if I click the top-left
icon, the window disappears just after less than 2 seconds.

Just to give you another example, when I try to disconnect...after
clicking on Start then on the specific red button, the window containing
the disconnection options stas "alive" for maybe less than 1 second.

I really on't know what to figure ot. I am really sad.
I tried to change both keyboards ad mouse....now I have DiNovo edge
with latest drivers and Razer Lachesis with newest drivers but nothing
changed .

I really hope someone will help me. Thank you all

MarK

Go back to the technician and ask him/her to fix the problems. You are owed
that much at least..

Re: Huge problems with Vista Ultimate 64 bit

This could be a problem with viruses/trojans/spyware or other malware.
Some free online virus scanners:
'Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan - Trend
Micro USA' ()
'PC Pitstop AntiVirus Center'
()
'ActiveScan 2.0 - A second opinion on the security of your PC'
()
Also try these free programs to rid your system of spyware, trojans,
and other malware:
'Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 - Free software downloads and reviews -
CNET Download.com'
()
Spybot - Search & Destroy
'Ad-Aware 2008 - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET
Download.com'
()
LavaSoft Ad-aware
I use BOTH of the above programs on my 3 Windows systems; what one
program misses, the other catches. Also make sure to download the most
up-to-date data before you run the programs.
Another very good freeware program for ridding yourself of spyware is
this:
'SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!'
()
SuperAntiSpyware

Also, you could try running the System File Checker: right click on the
Command Prompt entry on your Start Menu All Programs -> Accessories and
select Run as Administrator from the context menu, then run the command
SFC /SCANNOW. Have your Vista DVD ready to furnish possible
replacements for missing/corrupt system files.

Re: Huge problems with Vista Ultimate 64 bit

Thanks Lee, I am going to run the System File checker.
As far ar Malware option is concerned, I don't thinkit's the point
because those kind of problem arose since quite the very first beginnig
of my PC life.

I now have AVIRA Antivir Premium 2009 Trial version and it says my PC
is clean, the same fromSpybot S&D and Superantispyware.

I will let you in a while the result fro System checker.

Thanks

As Mike has told you - the technician who put together your non functioning
computer should help you.

First off back up your data!

Now.
Did the machine ever work right?

If it has not worked right from the first day you got it,
you need to return it to the person who built it and INSIST they fix it.

However, if the problem has just shown up recently
use system restore to take it back to a point prior to the start of the
problem

Hi Lee,

SFC just finished and it seems everything is perfect. "No integrity
violation found".

So, how do you suggest to proceed?

Re: Huge problems with Vista Ultimate 64 bit

I have never heard of any such problems as you describe; moreover, it is
difficult to tell whether they are hardware or software based.
Moreover, it doesn't seem to me that they are the kind of problems that
the Performance Monitor would log, but you might try this and see if it
tells you anything:

Vista has a good built-in tool for monitoring performance issues, and
you can often troubleshoot problems by the method explained in this web
page:
