Vista 2008 Profile Startmenu Problem

Hi!

I am working with a 2008 terminalserver and i want to place additional
shortcuts folders above the startmenu -> programs folder... so on top of the
startmenu.

The problem is, at the creation of the folder c:\users\%username%\Start Menu
or the "real" folder location: appdata\roaming\winsows\...

there is always the permissions set: everyone list folders = deny on the
start menu folder which results in that the folders in the startmenu folder
will not be displayed for users.

If i change the permissions manually the folder will be displayed.

How can i change this behavior?

Re: Vista 2008 Profile Startmenu Problem

Have you tried the location:
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows \Start Menu

I don't think those Deny permsissions would have been there by default, and
they must have been made manually.

The Default profile is just a template for new users, but you have a point.
After removing the Deny permission on that folder, new users made after will
probably not have the problem.
