Deleted my recycle bin

Okay, I know this must be the simplest thing to do, but I'm stuck. I
accidentally hit delete on my recycle bin when dumping it instead of
empty. I replaced the icon back to the desktop, but now it doesn't show
when anything is in it. It always shows as empty. Obviously the icon
isnt the correct recycle bin. Anyone out there that can tell me how to a
functioning recycle bin back? I have been using Vista for a whole day
now and love it other than trying to figure out this problem? Thanks.

Try this:

Right click desktop / Personalize /
Change desktop icons (left pane) /
Check the box: "Recyle Bin" / Apply / OK

Re: Deleted my recycle bin

You can simply open up "Computer" or "My Computer" from your start menu, and
you should see "Recycle Bin" in your left pane, under "Folders". You can
then drag this icon to your desktop, thus fixing the problem you are facing.

I don't know why you think Shaun giving links to the fix for the OP's
problem is spam, but it isn't.

I'm sure Brink's posts are far more appreciated than your whining worthless

crisitise somebody giving relevant help.

Re: Deleted my recycle bin

Thanks all. I tried them all. Some I couldn't figure out, some just
created a shortcut icon on the desktop, some made an icon that didn't
show when it was empty or full unless I hie refresh. The link above with
the "Download" option from Brink was the one I got to repair it and make
it function properly. Thanks to all and have a Merry Christmas!

Re: Deleted my recycle bin

Hello Kelvin,

Spam = Advertisement or promotion used to sell something or signup for
something.

Leech = To use something without contributing back.

I do neither of these. The links are to tutorials to help people
regardless of their skill level. I wrote the tutorials so I do not have
to type in the same information over and over. Plus, it can make it
easier for the person that needs help with the included screenshots, and
to have the information centralized to make it easier to update as
needed.

People can view these tutorials without having to signup for anything
or spend anything.

While not as often, I do post other site links as well. One of my
favorites is:

I'm sorry that you find them annoying, but they do contribute back to
help people that need it.

Shawn
