I cannot defrag or scan my pc for viruses?

::I use TuneUp Utilities 2008 to defrag my computer and AVG to scan my
computer for viruses.::
::AVG Scans \"4\" files and stops and TuneUp Utilities shows an error
message saying \"No connection could be made to the TuneUp Drive Defrag
service.\"::
::I Have reinstalled both but they still don't work does anyone have
any idlers?::

Strange.maybe you have some bad blocks.Check your disk any good tools
for example:
MHDD-> 'HDDGURU: MHDD'
()
HDD Regenerator->'Dmitriy Primochenko Online' ()

If do you use any other defragger for example Auslogic-> 'Auslogics -
Speed Up Computer and Internet' ()
is the same effect?

I use the same program. Make sure the defrag service is turned on. Do a Start
search for Services.... click on the COG icon. Scroll down to Tuneup Drive
Defrag Services and make sure it's on Manual or Automatic. If not double
click and change the right click for properties and "startup type".
