I had problems with WinMail so now I am using Thunderbird for mail. I can
not get Thunderbird to set up news servers. I tried to set up the MS
Communities and also my Roadrunner server - I know the Roadrunner server
name and default port are correct - but every time I click on Manage - I get
an error that says "Failed to connect to server news-server.satx.rr.com".
Default port is 119. I am using Windows Vista home. Any help would be
appreciated. Right now I am getting newsgroups through WinMail and mail
through Thunderbird and I would like to only have to use one program.

I have a similar problem. I have checked and rechecked for proper
settings and I know they are correct because I am using the same
settings on Windows Live Mail and have no problem logging on there. I
want to use Thunderbird because it allows me less constraints in address
book grouping.
