Does Vista still suck?

I'll bet it does.
And for that matter Office 2007 too.

I am actually using Open Office now, I never used the finished version of
Office 2007, but hated the beta versions.

I still have to use Vista, as about three of my customers have it, biggest
complaint, Computer not coming out of sleep mode, need to reboot.

I don't think he is, but you are entitled to your opinion.
So does Vista still suck or are you going to hijack the thread?

It was not a hijack. It was a response. Vista does not suck or you have
any idea of what you are doing.
And yes, I do believe you are an idiot for posting "Does Vista still suck"
and giving no basis for your sorry attempt
at what I supposed you thought was humor.

Why are you trying to turn the topic to my IQ? (ie calling me an idiot)
All I'm looking for is opinions, you gave yours, then attacked me.
Don't you have better things to do?
If you don't like the Post or the Subject simply do not reply to it.

I still think Vista is an operating system that was released before it
should have been, (ie SUCKS)
for instance did you know that Microsoft released a version of Vista that
was not intended to go retail?
Vista candidate 1 was released to the public instead of release canandite 2
(the intended retail) which was pulled from Microsoft's website a few days
after it was available to beta testers like me, because it was so unstable.

chew on that for a while

See what I mean about you being an idiot?

I have been and Official BETA tester since Windows 98 days.

RC1 was not very stable on older systems.

RC2 was pretty stable on every system I tested it on. The problem with
stability was related to
chipset and graphics card drivers not being written specifically for RC2.

The release version has been rock solid stable on *every* system I have put
it on.
Of course, I do the requisite research first and make sure that all required
drivers
are available, that the system motherboard and chipset have the latest
firmware and
drivers, and always do a clean install or a dual boot.

I have not found any 32 bit version of Vista to be unstable.

The IT department at TD Banknorth would disagree with the stability issues.

Did you get an Official badge??

So every time Microsoft comes out with a new RC or patch, manufacturers
should re-write all their drivers?

You must not have much else to do if you have time for all that, maybe it's
time to get a life?

Maybe we should just throw out our existing systems and buy "approved"
hardware every time Microsoft comes out with a new OS?
As usual Microsoft released an OS before it was really ready, and Vista
still SUCKS, but hopefully it will get better when the patches come out in
Oct, Oh wait they might not make that deadline either, but that would be par
for the course.

Trust me I'm not a Microsoft hater, I'm using their product right now, I'm
just stating my opinions

We are all MS beta testers. (But then all Linux users are the same.)
This has been the way since Win 3.1
WinXP semed more stable than Vista, but then it had been
upgraded many times before that stability and (passing) security
arrived.
One thing, Vista advertises itself when something goes down,
in an attempt to show how much better it can deal with the problem.
Personally, I would have gone for a Windows Explorer that did not
crash on me every time I executed an instruction, or used the Search
facility, rather than the cool advice that it was restarting.

Thank you! a real response.

I personally don't remember XP being much better than 98 at first, I do
remember these types of comments, 98 is faster than XP, 98 takes up less
room on your hard drive,
98 needs less RAM etc, now we look at Vista and XP, XP takes me about 45 min
to install on an Athlon 2600,
Vista took about 3.5 hours on the exact same machine(ultimate edition),
that's with a GIG of RAM and a TI 4200. My install including swap file was
22 or 24 GIG before updates!
I personally think Vista puts way to much emphasis on "eye candy" like aero
windows, BIG deal.
My customers that have Vista, I have pointed out the aero windows option and
to date every one of them said and I quote So?
As far as Linux, I'm really diggin Ubuntu, and I been using Linux since it
was all text based. (what do you mean *bash)? I just want to mount my floppy
drive ugh!!!!

If you have not used Ubuntu, and you have a hard drive handy, you should
really give it a try, I think if it weren't for gaming it could be my every
day OS.

thanks again for a real dialog Miles.

Clark...

Then they are not much of an IT department, are they?

No more than you get a badge for being an idiot...

Review the thread. *YOU* were the one who began calling *me* names.

Thats the way things generally work...but then again you are as ignorant of
that simple fact as you are of operating systems.

I have quitre a good life. I make enough money that I do not have to work.
I live in a home that costs more that you will make in your
entire life. I have worked hard all my life to get where I am now, and I am
now able to fully enjoy the fruits of my labor. One of theose benefits
is having plenty of leisure time.

Why then does MS even bother to publish a WHQL list?
Oh, I forgot, you are ignorant of that fact, also?

> As usual Microsoft released an OS before it was really ready,

It was the most tested OS they ever released. 4 years in development. The
largest base of beta testers in their history.
Again, you display your ignorance.

and Vista

Well, for someone like you, it probably does.

And you'll whine about that, too! Par for the course...you just whine about
everything instead of trying to
solve your issues.

No, we have already established that you are a whiner that has no
troubleshooting skills.

I'm using their product right now, I'm

You mistakenly assume that your experience is the norm. It is not. Your
opinion is worthless in the overall scheme of things. You were not
expressing an opinion, you were whining. There is a difference.
