Re: Error code: 0x8007000D
This error is linked to STIERR_Invalid_HW_Type
which is a related to windows unable to communicate with a connected scanner, camera, or other device. When you disconnected all external devices (or the shared partition), you probably cleared the error and was able to proceed. What it may have needed was the driver installed earlier in the installation process if you want to install windows with this device connected. Being an upgrade, and not a clean install, I would think the driver already present which kind of implies the shared partition was the problem. But, I don't really know and found this interesting.
