Vista Ultimate x64 / CD-DVD Rom

Configured new PC and loaded operating system. CD/DVD worked perfectly
loading the OS... inside the OS, after installation, it won't read any
other CD/DVD's EXCEPT the OS DVD... I get a; "Please insert a disc... ",
when I click the drive in explorer, it ejects the drive.

The drive shows as working with no issues in device manager.

Is there a patch or something for this problem? Has anyone else
experienced this?

Have you installed any other CD/DVD writing software? If so, what?

It's a fresh OS, nothing else installed at all... It won't read any
other CD/DVD except the Vista DVD that I used to install the system.

When you say reads, are you referring to Vista or just after POST, like when
you installed from it. Do you show any problems in Device Manager and is it
shown in Computer and Disk Management?

Yea, I looked at that, doesn't apply. I am having some weirdness
though... it reads burned DVD's, movie DVD's and Warhammer Online... It
will not read the CD's that came with the motherboard, sound card and
video card.

Maybe the common theme here is that it reads DVD's but not CD's?

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 / CD-DVD Rom

What are the specifics on this DVD player?
Manufacturer, model, etc.

Thanks
