Yes fasthosts told me to use port 225 which I have tried - but still the same
thing happens? Re: Windows Security Pop Up
Then setting it to port 225 is likely to be closer to something that works,
even if it doesn't cure your problem by itself. Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, substituting your ISP's SMTP server will generally fix this type of problem. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "deb960" <deb960@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0E37E123-1905-462B-9B72-6334613450C5@microsoft.com... > PROBLEM RESOLVED! > > At last, problem resolved - had a bit of a think as was not getting anyhere > although I am sure Gary suggested this initially (so thank you) > > Basically I set up another email account but used by ISP as the SMTP address > and it works!!!! > > So just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for their time and effort > - really much appreciated. > > Thanks > > "robertmiles@bellsouthNOSPAM.net" wrote: > >> Then setting it to port 225 is likely to be closer to something that works, >> even >> if it doesn't cure your problem by itself. >> >> "deb960" <deb960@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:75DE66D5-A615-47AF-AB56-1372B5A259E2@microsoft.com... >> > Yes fasthosts told me to use port 225 which I have tried - but still the >> > same >> > thing happens? >> > >> > "robertmiles@bellsouthNOSPAM.net" wrote: >> > >> >> If fasthosts.co.uk is not your internet provider, you're likely to find >> >> that >> >> SMTP >> >> connections using the default SMTP port number (port 25) are likely to be >> >> blocked to cause trouble for spammers.
