IMPORTING FOLDERS AND MESSAGES FROM OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6

Hello,
tried to import old messages from OE6 to Windows Mail (copied them first to
a DVD and then to the HDD and then tried to import them by using the import
command). They didn't show up, even some of the system folders (Outbox,
Drafts, Junk... only Inbox is left) were deleted. Now nothing functions,
can't create new folders or send mail?
