COleTemplateServer::UpdateRegistry fails in Vista

With both my app and samples like Hiersvr, COleTemplateServer::UpdateRegistry
fails on Vista As an example, from debug output window in VS2008,
errors are (for Hiersvr):
Error: failed setting key 'CLSID\{00021841-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' to
value 'MFC 4.0 Hierarchy List'.
Error: failed setting key
'CLSID\{00021841-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\ProgID' to value
'HierSvr.Document.4'

Anyone know what's going on here??
