Re: Recent Documents display in alphabetical order

Well, can you explain why it doesn't display the most recent documents? It displays the first 15 documents from the Recent folder, but not the most recent ones. That makes no sense, and is certainly different than the way it worked in XP.

Re: Recent Documents display in alphabetical order

no it's the same way shown in XP too. However you can directly make a shortcut to the recent docs folder in start menu and that should sove it.

Re: Recent Documents display in alphabetical order

Actually, going to check XP, it does exactly what I thought it did. It puts shortcuts to recent documents in the My Recent Items folder, keeps track of which are the most recent, and then displays the most recent in alphabetical order. If I open a few documents, those ones displace the oldest on the list, but the list itself is kept in alphabetical order. That's how it's supposed to function, and so I can confirm that its current behaviour is broken.

Re: Recent Documents display in alphabetical order

In Vista it functions differently. It doesn't keep any shortcuts. Rather a search for recent Documents is done and displayed. The list here too is shown in alphabetical order from the start menu, but inside the Recent Documents folder, it is displayed as it should be.
