Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (MGIWIZ.EXE) crashes

Hi,

I've been using MIGWIZ.EXE to backup my Windows XP settings, but while
re-installing Windows XP, and running MIGWIZ.EXE to restore my desktop, it
crashes. "MIGWIZ.EXE has performed an illegal operation."

I've tried disabling antivirus software, and running it in safe mode does'nt
help the matter.

Is this a common issue, or is it just me? Seems to me I've had this problem
in that past as well.

I need to know if there is a KB covering this, or possibly a way to extract
the information from the USMT2.UNC directory.

Regards

Re: Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (MGIWIZ.EXE) crashes

Hi again,

I ran the FTW again, under Windows, but the option "I will use the
wizard from the Windows XP CD" is greyed out.

What to do, what to do?
