Missing file when upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

Hello.

I tried to upgrade my Windows XP Home SP2 to Windows XP Pro SP2 (MSDNAA CD
with correct key). I start the setup process from Windows. I choose the
upgrade option but when the setup tries to copy the setup files, at the end
of the copy, it tells me that a file is missing. When I start the setup
again, I have the same problem with another file (for example it's
ankaujbz.sys then a8zb0uya.sys ...). When I ignore the error, the setup
process doesn't launch correctly at reboot.

Does someone have an idea ?

(My CD is not corrupt, I have the same problem when trying to upgrade from
the ISO image and the CD works fine for a clean install).

Thanks

Patrick Schevenels.

RE: Missing file when upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro

The 1st reply to youre post is wrong.Microsoft has always said "Thier is no
up-
grade from xp home to xp pro" the upgrade is for older windows OS.To switch
from xp home to pro, only a clean installation is recommended.....

Andrew E.,

I do hope that you have some sort of sack this time and respond to my
response to you.
Otherwise - why do you bother posting something you are unwilling to defend?

I still enjoy how you QUOTE something - yet still misspell it every single
time. "Thier" would be "Their", but in this case - would actually not even
be the same word - as "There" would be the one you would utilize. Not only
that - you have never cited the source of this quote you so like to repeat.

When you get one wrong (like this one) the first time - and it is proven to
you that it was the incorrect assumption - repeating it over and over does
not make it true.

Examples of your incorrect statement - over and over:

The same answer I continue to give to prove to you that your assumption is
completely and totally false:

Andrew E. has been incorrect about this many times - but refuses (or perhaps
cannot comprehend) the fact that upgrading from Windows XP Home to Windows
Professional is supported and one of the easiest paths to follow.

Windows XP supported upgrade paths

That article clearly shows a path from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP
Professional Edition..

Even external (non-Microsoft sponsored) confirm this:

What are the supported upgrade paths to Windows XP?

It would be nice - if just once - you responded to a rebuttal of your
incorrect answer and told us why you believe what you believe.
