enter msconfig in dos mode - please help me
hi, i wanted to clean up my computer using adaware, sypbot etc and i read
that its a better "clean" when in safe mode. so in run i typed in "msconfig" the boot tab i checked safeboot now safemode loads up but all i get is the dos prompt. if i close that nothing else comes up no toolbar (i.e the start button in the bottom left) no nothing how do i exit out of safe mode now? do you know the dos commands to get back into msconfig or the system configuration utility? your immediate response is greatly appreciated. l |

You should have selected "MINIMAL". Also, here's a program that makes booting into Safe Mode easier. BootSafe Good luck Nepatsfan |

Re: enter msconfig in dos mode - please help me
I had the same problem with the difference that I had disabled system restore following Norton's advice (virantix c removal instructions). Managed to have the window pop out with
%WINDIR%\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\msconfig.exe but can't do anything with the restore disabled. Any help? Christine Christine |
