Re: Anti Virus
No it does not work splendidly, the hit on system performance is
unacceptable, the no end of problems it causes to Windows and other applications is unacceptable, it is garbage, plain and simple. Re: Anti Virus
I would NOT recommend AVG Anti-Virus to anyone, nor would I recommend any
Norton or McAfee application. OK (just) freebies: Avira AntiVir; Avast4 Top of the line paid: NOD32; Kaspersky. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ Magnum wrote: > I have been told that Avast, AVG or Antivir are good free anti virus > programmes. Re: Anti Virus
Magnum,
You get what you pay for AVG 7 + comes with its own adware BHO McCrappy is just that Sophos leaves viruses that Norton detected 10 months or more earlier Avast - enough sad NOD32 - leave alone Kapersky has a feature that if enable stops you accessing the Internet & no, it isn't the firewall but a bug Personally, I use Symantec Corporate & would highly recommend it, but Enterprise products not home ones -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Magnum" <Magnum@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:65A44696-7D2B-4721-B462-2B668E3EC87C@microsoft.com... > I have been told that Avast, AVG or Antivir are good free anti virus > programmes. Re: Anti Virus
I've used all 3 at different times, over many years. Avast is the most
comprehensive of the three. Re: Anti Virus
The vast majority of HijackThis logs we're seeing at AumHa Forums and
elsewhere *still* show AVG as the installed AV app. Coincidence? I think not. -- ~PA Bear Tom [Pepper] Willett wrote: > I would wholeheartedly recommend AVG to anyone. > ~Robear, I think you're living in the past ;-) > >> I would NOT recommend AVG Anti-Virus to anyone, nor would I recommend any >> Norton or McAfee application. >> >> OK (just) freebies: Avira AntiVir; Avast4 >> >> Top of the line paid: NOD32; Kaspersky. >> -- >> ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) >> MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) >> AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net >> DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ >> >> >> Magnum wrote: >>> I have been told that Avast, AVG or Antivir are good free anti virus >>> programmes.
