Accessing Folder

I am trying to get some pictures off a hard drive that I used in a old XP
computer in the MY Pictures folder in the Documents and Settings folder. I
can access any of the folders in Documents and Settings but the one that My
Pictures are in. I get an error that says it is not accessible. Access is
denied. My question is how do I get to them? Thanks

Boot to Safe Mode (F8 on restart), as default "Administrator" account, and
use the Security tab to 'take ownership"
