Security Center problems: doesn't recognize antivirus
I recently had to reinstall XP Pro SP2 using the "in place upgrade"
method. After I downloaded and installed all the patches, something started happening with the Windows Security Center. Please note that I have Trend Micro Officescan installed on this and 20 other computers, and this is the only one I'm having a problem with. After a reboot and login, the Security Center pops up almost immediately saying that Virus Protection is turned off. However, I know for a fact that it is turned ON (I have verified this in several ways). If restart the Security Center service, it seems to recognize that Office Scan is installed and does not bother me until the next restart. Is there any way to fix this, or is this a sign of a bigger problem? Thanks. Joseph |

Try this: Start | Run | cmd | Enter net stop winmgmt | Enter cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem | Enter ren repository repository.old | Enter net start winmgmt | enter -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |
