Control panel makes explorer crash
Hi
DELL dimension 9150, just 2 years old. I have all available updates to the XP 2 service pack. Suddently, when trying to open the control panel to uninstall a program, this action causes the Explorer to crash - every time. Has anyone got a tip that can help me fix this problem. Thansk a lot,- Kristian |

Look for a file named "control.exe". IF the "dllcache" folder exists and only IF the "control.exe" file exists: Go to the main System32 folder and delete the file control.exe It should be replaced automatically by the copy from the dllcache folder. If the above isn't possible, Go to Start => Run and type in sfc /scannow {with a space after sfc} You may be asked for your XP installation CD. Luck! |
